Some 20plus years ago I visited Dickerson while searching for a Dickerson
sailboat. They were (and may still be) renown for their quality. They were
beautiful boats constructed of wood. The yard had just been purchased by a
youngish Philadelphia Main Line couple hoping to continue the Eastern Shore
tradition of this brand. I enjoyed lunch with them at one of the quaint
Oxford MD restaurants. Trappe was, and I guess still is, an isolated and
remote location. I recall it being a well-protected cove/marina. Oxford is
not far away and a great small marina town to visit . . . far better in my
opinion than St Michaels due to less tourists. Hinckley recently bought out
one of Oxfords neat old boat builders, Cuts & Case, and has set up shop
there.
