T&T: Ernesto Induced Puppy Pile!!!

Bailey has called for a puppy pile! It seems we are corkscrewing in our slip
in 20-23 knot winds. The TV (local ABC) is saying 45 mph winds, but that's
in New Bern.

I tried to convince Bailey that since we were lying athwartship, we were
pitching and not rolling, but he knows better! Even sleepy George wants to
know what's the heck is going on. We have moved to the saloon and they
appear more relaxed. I was almost tempted to start the engine and turn on
the Naiads to reassure them, but starting the engine provokes another set of
doggy emotions.

Oh good, now we are pitching - the Boyze don't mind that - as much! Our
motion does not correlate to the local wind velocity. I think the wave
action is coming up NW Creek from the Neuse? The good news is that our 20
tons moves allot less that the larger Hunters either side of us. Just had a
32 knot gust.

Thus far, Ernesto has been reasonable here in NW Creek, New Bern, NC. The
area has experienced 4 to 8" of rain, but the water has remained just below
the stringers of the dock so the power remains turned on. This means that my
hurricane ice cream and pizza remain frozen.

Well 2 out of 3 of us are almost asleep. Perhaps the blaring TV offers some
measure of reassurance? Now, if the talking heads spoke with specificity and
dropped their inflammatory language ........ Most of them had Ernesto gone
NLT 0500 - NOT. Perhaps it will abate by the time my law class (Judge Judy)
begins.
