I have owned a couple of boats with the Oringo Alcolol/electric--and was not
perticularly impressed with them--OK for the express cruiser who weekends
occasionally. Not as dangerous as the older pressure alcholol, but you are
still using a fuel you have to pour into the burner cup. It will soot and it
seemed a bit more difficult to regulate.
I would put first as propane (LPG) as preference for a non electric stove. As
Richard notes, we currently have a Wallas (Diesel/Kerosene)--stove heater
combo--and I agree it is not as controlable and has less total heat than
propane--plus is expensive to buy, but is a very safe type of stove, since it
vents any gasses to the exterior of the boat and has a nice ceramic top--that
with a microwave and propane grill--we are good to go!
