This weekend I had the opportunity to run a new C Ranger 25 trailerable
trawler from the C Dory Marine Group. This is a 7,000 lb boat, with LOA of
25 feet and beam of 8'6" powered by a 125 hp Yanmar single diesel inboard.
The boat handled very well--to boot it had both bow and stern thrusters--so
docking was extraordinarilly easy. The fit and finish was mostly good but
needed some detailing to give a completely finished look. I did a more in
depth review on the C Brats site:

The web site is at:

This is a truely trailerable boat with a moderate range and complete
facilities. The boat easily cruises at 6.5 knots at 2000 RPM and a top speed
sustained speed of 11.4 knots and WOT speed of 15.2 knots. There is
possiblity of larger diesels to get speeds of 15 knots sustained cruise.
There is a foreward V berth, a double navigators/passanger's seat, as well as
a large dinette (converts into a bunk) with a somewhat strange "coffin" bunk
under the dinette area. My belief is that this space would be better utalized
for storage, rather than sleeping two children small adults. The head is
nicely finished, with ensuite shower.
