T&T: Marina Recommendation

Tom,
The largest concentration of marinas in Texas is the Clear Lake area SE of
Houston on Galveston Bay. Go to http://photohome.com/clearlake/marinas.html
for a pretty comprehensive list. Live aboard is not a problem at most of
these. Other areas of Texas, such as Rockport and Port Aransas, have nice
facilities with less crowds.

Subject: T&T: Marina Recommendation

Could anyone please suggest or recommend a marina along the Texas Gulf coast
for long term use?

I'm hoping to buy my boat in Florida next month and need to find a new home
port. I have nothing against Florida (or any other gulf state), but with my
modest pension the monthly slip fee is of prime importance.

We're not quite ready to give up our old Kentucky home just yet, but I hope
to spend a lot of time on the boat so will need a "live aboard" slip.

I've been leaning toward Texas since we're thinking of relocating there
eventually, but the prime criteria are cost and live-aboard-ability.
Otherwise I'm really wide open to suggestions and am truly grateful for any
feedback.
