Hi all,
I bought sometimes ago a twin screw 58' trawler type boat. This boat
have a traditional long keel and a single centered rudder, 50' away from
the props. The props are 32 inches diam. with 44' spacing axle to axle.
The engines have a maximum rotation of 2200 rpm. Port is left hand and
starbord is right hand.
As the gear ratio is the same -2.7- forward and reverse I can swap them
if needed.
Now I try to determine witch configuration is the best to have the
maximum maneuverability at low speed. That's my goal.
Do you think switching the props could help?
I did a search first on the subject but didn't fine any clear answer. If
one of you have time for an answer, it will be greatly appreciate.
Allan
