T&T: Ball valves for polishing system - teflon tape

That is what I have read also re the teflon tape. But I have used it for
years with no apparent ill effects....but I do as I do in hydraulic
applications...I leave the first 2 threads naked. This has always worked
for
me. YMMV

Teflon is totally impervious to all fuels and is
used in aviation fuel
screens. I cannot tell you what ball valves to use but
diesel has no
effect
on Teflon.
Teflon tape has binders in it holding the
Teflon into the tape. I cannot
vouch for the binders. The main reason I
thought that folks don't use
Teflon
tape on fuel fittings is that some of
the tape may break off and get
into
the system clogging something. It
certainly will not dissolve.
