Some of the teflon tape used in plumbing isn't rated for fuel, I believe 
that's where you picked up the reference to teflon. If the valve is 
rated "WOG" (water, oil, gas) it should have no problem with diesel 
fuel. There may be another marine rating or spec that may apply, but I 
don't have the reference at hand to be able to say for sure.
