Ray,
My kneejerk reaction would be to avoid propane refrigeration. With electric, 
you can run from batteries, gen, or shore power. You pretty much should 
always have one of those available. Run out of propane, and you have warm 
icecream!

I suspect someone will talk about the safety issue of propane. It's not a 
big issue for me.
