The reason I bought a Canon printer was the
cartridge cost is so low. Under 10 bucks for the
black and under 15 bucks for the color. I found
out that it is a mistake to buy "compatible"
cartridges as they fail very quickly unless used
up almost at one printing. Any time sitting unused
(even only a few days) and those cartridges stop
working. The Canon cartridges are MUCH better, but
6 months of sitting might be too much.
Since the cartridges hold so little ink (about 60
pages) I find it better to just keep new
cartridges in the box until I want to start using
them.
 Works for me! :-)
