T&T: On-board Printer issues

My HP inkjet just died after 5 years of live-aboard use.  I bought another
HP 3940. Clearly a $30 printer isn't the problem compared to the cartridge
cost, but I really don't print that much so it works for me and seems to be
happy with the cruising life in the saloon.
