That's a good insight. Perhaps a collapsed Ziplock bag with some moisture in 
it might be better. Many inkjet tanks use capillary action to transfer the 
ink from the tank to the printhead. On my Canon tanks you can see a felt 
like material in the bottom orifice. Thereafter, it's a piezo electric or 
thermal transfer. With disuse, the printhead will become clogged as well. 
For some makes there are cleaning cartridges, but now, with a chip in each 
cartridge you would have to clean the head or replace it after long disuse.
