T&T: Alarm system

I used to have a self-contained alarm. Little brown box with an ultrasonic
beam. You turned it on with a switch in the back, and it activated after
maybe 30 seconds. When you came back and tripped the beam, it waited about
30 seconds for you to turn it off, then gave off with a LOUD alarm. It also
had a 110 switched outlet that you could plug a lamp or something into. I
never had any problems with break-ins, and after it scared the heck out of
me when I'd come home and forget to turn it off, I gave it away. Might be
just what you need though... I think I picked it up at a flea market for $10
or so.
I have a high water alarm system installed now. The alarm horn and strobe is
conspicuously mounted on the aft deck. My guess is that folks think it's a
burglar alarm, and who am I to tell them otherwise? This is what I use:

That site has lots of good alarm system components that you could probably
use as well.
