T&T: Audio Books afloat-- was Music & Movies afloat

Ron, the iPOD (Mac based) works great for music, and probably works great for a lot of things that I can't even imagine. Maybe even books . . . BUT. When you download a book from the library (and yes, my library is online, so I can download from wherever I am, even after I've moved away from here, and they also are in partnership with another library system giving me twice as many books at least, with plans for more partnerships . . .) you have to have a license in order to listen to it. Apparently the Mac based gadgets can't understand the license part of it. All they "know" is that they don't have the "key." It's that license which is timed and dated, and which, when it expires, prevents you from listening.
There is no cost to me as a person, only as a taxpayer. I would imagine that there are places where you can buy a subscription that will allow you to download books as well, but at this point I don't need that as I get them "free."
My sister went to the library (online) and downloaded the list of iPOD gadgets that will work, just to make certain that the one she got for me would work. I love it!!!
If I were you I'd google your own county library system and see what you can find. When you get to their site, search for "eAudiobooks." "ebooks" will get you something that you can download to your PDA and READ.
