T&T: Boating in Florida

Here is another astounding Michigan fact that I read quite some time
ago. I cannot point to the article this many years later, but it said
that with all of Michigans little coastal nooks and crannies, and the
Upper Peninsula, that Michigan has more coast line than the east coast
of the US.
Can anyone verify or discredit ?
