There are still a number of the Navy YP (Yard Patrol) boats, which have been
actively used and well maintained until a few years ago. These come up for
sale, and are probably better boats than the Army T boat. St. Elias is still
for sale. I was aboard her shortly after she was purchased from the Navy in
San Diego for $10,000. (as the owner said, his dinghy cost more)--and as I
recollect the diesel tanks were full. I think he sold off the 400 mile radar
fairly soon--but some of the other "neat" gear was still aboard. These were
used for Navy instruction and some had the bridge remoted controls--others had
the speaking tubes and direct controls in the engine room. St. Elias has been
very nicely converted and done a fair amount of cruising since conversion:

missprint--there are four 6-71's~!
