Steve, Gil & all other Wi-Fi Xperts on THE list.
I have been experimenting with some reasonable success this summer with a
high gain Wi-Fi antenna which like the Radio Labs Unit is a USB unit with
built in Radio. The problem is it is directional and despite its features
does not lend itself to a fixed solution.

Therefore I have to connect the antenna every time to whichever PC I want to
use and also identify the hotspot and point it.
Up on the fly bridge, under the eyebrow I have a good locker that is dry and
has AC electric, and I would like to install a router there with a short
connection to a high gain antenna that would access local hot spots on
cruise and redistribute access to the wifi enabled laptops and PC that are
on board.
I am struggling to identify the best bits of kit for a solution.
Unfortunately testing solutions can be cost prohibitive, so any experiences
would be appreciated.
