T&T: MaxSea

John:  Don't know about the current version of MaxSea but I used the  
software for several years because it was originally written for the  
Mac platform.  Worked great, then they ported over to PCs and quit  
supporting & upgrading the Mac version.  Had some problem downloading  
the S-57 charts from NOAA and got zip help from tech support.  Talked  
w/ Furuno at the Work Boat Show in Seattle several years ago and they  
said that all Furuno did was buy into MaxSea to make sure that MaxSea  
remained viable.

I also think that MaxSea (the program was great) has geared its self  
more toward the commercial & ship end of the business.
