T&T: T&T CPES and Topcoat Adhesion

You are correct.  This topic has been discussed in great detail on the
Grand Banks Owners forum, and the process you describe is recommended
and practiced by (among others) Bob Lowe who is probably one of the most
experienced people on this subject having for many years owned or
managed Oak Harbor Boatworks in Washington state, a yard that
specializes in the repair, restoration, and upgrading of Grand Banks
boats, particularly woodies.  CPES that is still a wee bit tacky does
indeed promote better adhesion of whatever goes on top of it, be it
primer or a brightwork finish like varnish, Bristol, etc.
