T&T: wifi card in a desktop

Brent,

After Katrina, I got a Verizon Aircard and it works great. Near DSL speeds.
Something like $150 down and $80/mo for all you can eat internet. Goes in a
laptop.

Then I wanted internet on my other computers so I bought a Kyocera KR-1. You
plug the Aircard into it and it transmits a WiFi signal throughout your
boat. It's close to my desktop so I run a ethernet cable from the box to it.
Hardwired. My wife's computer came with internal wifi so she's also on the
internet through the KR-1. I already had a wifi card for my laptop so I'm
also good to go.

Also all computers are networked so we can exchange files. I can plot the
navigation the night before on my desktop in the dinette and upload it to
the navigation laptop the next morning. I can forward it from there to the
Furuno chartplotter so I have two separate displays from two separate gps
antennas in front of me.

Course I have paper charts in front of me marked up by my eversharp.

Regards.
