'Lo All,
>A thermostat to control the muffin fan.
I used the air conditioning side of two old household-type
thermostats to control muffin fans to exhaust hot air from behind my
Norcold and to exhaust hot air from around the inverter. I set the
thermostat to 90 degrees or so.

I would highly recommend a ball-bearing type fan, as a sleeve bearing
will wear out fairly quickly. I found the ones I used online, at a
computer house. Get the larger ones as they should move the most air.
I think the ones I got are 4" x 4". I have some smaller ones I took
out of computers, but they do not seem to move as much/enough air.
The first fan I used behind the Norcold died after only a few months.
It had sleeve bearings. The new fans and thermostat setup have lasted
at least 3 years now. I installed two fans behind the Norcold when I
replaced the failed one. Now, even on the hottest day, the Norcold
keeps ice and cycles on and off. Before, it ran continuously on a hot
day and barely kept the refrigerator cool (not cold).
Take care and be safe.
