T&T: Newbie question

Having recently retired, I'm in the beginning stages of looking for a boat
large enough to live on for a few months a year, something in the 45 - 50 foot
range. Being single, I wonder about how one maneuvers a craft of that size by
oneself in certain situations, for example while bringing it into a moorage
slip or snagging an anchor buoy. This makes me wonder further if there are
remote control systems commercially available by which one can operate the
engine(s), transmission, bow and stern thrusters, etc., from the bow or other
stations remote from the pilothouse convenient for such operations.
Any suggestions?
