T&T: wire tie tool

I use Ty-Wraps (or generically, nylon wire ties) regularly at work. I think I've seen a tool that will tighten and cut off a wire tie, but I've never seen anyone using such a tool at work. We generally tighten the ties by hand, sometimes aided by pliers, and cut off the tails with wire cutters. An electrician recently showed my his preferred way to remove the tails - he held the tail near the "latch" with his electrician's pliers, and just twisted the tail til it came off - he claimed that that method left the end smoother than using wire cutters.
