T&T: Where are we?

With todays affordiable chart plotters and Radar, I wonder how all of us
survived for 50 or 60 years without running aground or running into a
breakwater?

The reality is that with a good chart plotter there is absoutely no reason not
to know exactly where you are and where you are going.  I agree with Willie
that a compass; both hand held and built in compensated are very valuable
devices.  One needs to have written down the compass courses on the chart
before getting into a pickle--that is what we used to do--and it still works
today!

I have had this save my .....more than once, when I was blinded by a on
comming boat in a confined and narrow channel.
