Al brought up on the list, and I had one question off list about the Wallas
stove in the "summer". Also why we chose this stove, since we live in
Florida.
We boat several weeks every year on Lake Powell, where the "normal"
temperature is in the 100 to 110 degree range. The Wallas is a ceramic cook
top and does not put a lot of heat into the cabin, unless it is in the
"heater" mode, where a sheet of SS is heated by the top, and then blowers blow
the heat into the cabin--which works well in the PNW). The Wallas has a
forced draft and much of the heat, not being used in cooking exits the cabin
to the outside air.
The stove is ready to cook in 5 minutes and cools down mostly in about 5
minutes when turned off. The amount of heat liberated is not much, and
doesn't seem to add much to the interior heat. I'll know better when we put
on the Air Conditioning in the new boat--but it has not been a problem in 100
degree weather at Lake Powell.
