According to members of the Loop List who are among those boats stuck, 
everything you have related is true. The boats attached to the dock are OK.

People stuck at Lock #3 are being well taken care of by the townspeople, the 
Canal Authority, and the Visitors Center. The latter is getting "T" Shirts 
printed with a burgee made up by an Admiral on one of the boats. It may have 
wrecked plans, but it's an adventure. A nice example of hospitality.
