One thing you may want to consider is setting up an account with Fedex (or
UPS) before you leave to go cruising. There is no charge to set up the
account and unless you request daily pickup there are no monthly charges.
You simply provide them with a credit card number and they bill your card
when there is a shipment.

You avoid surcharges from the Mailbox etc type places and from most
suppliers. If you order something via an overnight service simply have them
bill your Fedex account. This also eliminates having to reimburse friends
and family when they ship something. They also provide boxes and heavy
envelopes for free. Your friends go online to create a label and simply
drop off the package at the nearest Fedex box or office. They can just
guess the weight because they will reweigh it for billing.

You can also track incoming shipments via the internet. 2nd day and Express
Saver provide a substantial discount over overnight services.
