T&T: Air compressor advice

I was in the process of composing a message very similar to Bill's. Instead of
just saying "ditto", or not posting, I'll give you the short version:

If
you want a compressor to supply breath air, even at shallow depths, buy one
certified to provide filtered breathing air. It should be able to provide at
least 140psi intermediate pressure AT A HIGH VOLUME, as lots of newer second
stage breathing regulators work at higher psi these days. When you need the
volume while working hard, you really NEED it.

You don't want to breathe
compressed CO and other miscellaneous gases from your bilge or from nearby
exhaust/motor sources. You don't want to breath compressed ozone, oil from the
compressor or carbon/charcoal filter material. The installation must be
carefully thought out.

There are several good compressors out there that are
safe as breathing air sources and that can provide plenty of volume for tools
and other miscellaneous needs.

But they ain't cheap...

A few things to be aware of with air compressors, since
this is my main
business (industrial compresssors) i've seen many mistakes.
Be aware of duty
cycle, most oil free compressors are light duty and will
heat up and burn
out the teflon internals if run to...........SNIP
