Greetings,

I was involved recently with two boat persons in Turkey that I think
could answer your question. Is the boat in Turkey? Yusuf is near
Bodrum and Christian in Marmaris.

"Yusuf CIVELEKOGLU" at <yusuf@yachtworks.info>

Christian Meier-Menzel at 'christian@offshore-sailing.net'.

On a Moody 41 we installed a MaxProp, which reverses itself to provide
good thrust in reverse. This has taken care of the desire for a
bowthruster.

I will be cruising in Turkey for a few weeks each year for the next few years.
I would be glad to hear of your experiences if you are cruising there.
You can contact me off-list at irandar@gmail.com

Subject: T&T: Bow thruster
What kind of bow thruster should be installed on a 60' motorsailer (Turkish
gulet)? It is a single engine boat and quite tricky to manoeuvre without
one. Specifically, I am not sure if it should be electric or hydraulic and
what size (hp) would be needed to be efficient without overkill. What make
can be recommended by those of you who have used them? Thanks.
