Monday 27 November we left Ft Lauderdale in the 157 foot Azzurra ll. Bad
weather was forecast but we had to go to make the Annual Charter Brokers Show
in St. Martin. The weather was bad and only got worse as we proceeded south
We were forced to reduce Rpm to 1000 and proceed at only 7 kts. before we
reached Provo in the Turks & Caicos and hide for a day behind Atkins Island.
We then proceeded to Provo where two of the 13 crew left due to sea sickness
(these were all professional paid crew. After two more days of waiting for it
to abate We continued on to St. Martin. arriving there a day after the boat
show was over. Moral of the story schedules can't overcome weather.
