I would think a far more utilitarian tool would be  a hand  impact driver.  
+/- $ 20  They are impacted with a hammer.   Normally come with 3/8 in drive.  
There are hardened bits for the three  phillips sizes (and many others)  
Obviously you can now use with sockets  and if small stuff use a 3/8 to 1/4 adapter 
and now you can get  anything...sockets, screws, etc.
Yes I have one in my toolbox.
