I do not know where you get your information, but
the battery MANUFACTURERS ALL insist that in order
to produce a functional parallel battery bank, you
MUST use batteries of the same age.
WHY is there so much resistance to this fact???
REPLY: Eric,
While I can understand the theory behind having all batteries at the same
functional
level. I find it troubling that if I purchase six batteries for 1.2 BU
and put them into a
parallel house bank and one has a premature failure 12 months later, and
is replaced under warranty.
That I must throw away the other five batteries and buy new ones. Also I
do not think
the battery vendor would feel obligated to replace the other 5 batteries
if there was nothing
wrong with them. At this point the economical solution is to keep
replacing them one at a
time as they fail under warranty.
