We've all beat the light load issues on diesels to death on this list
before.
I haven't seen any difference between 4 strokes or 2 strokes re low load
applications. It kills both of them way sooner than running them correctly.

Look at most of the 4 stroke turbo'd diesels (80-150 HP) in
sailboats....dead in 2-3000 hours where the same engine will last many
thousands in a workboat.

2 or 4 stroke, load 'em or lose 'em :-)
