Sound like U have a high or low resistance connection in the ground side of
the power system. This causes a difference of potential between the battery
system & the charger.. Clean up all grounds after checking the resistance
between each  battery neg. to the charger neg. & these negs. to the single
point neg. ground. Use a good Fluke or other Digital meter. Make sure that all
neg. leads on the vessel go to only 1 common point, then to the ground plate
or what ever U use as a single point ground.. If ANY grounds are tied to the
bonding system, except at the single point rectify the problem...
