T&T: All chain rode scope question.

On the smaller boats I have had in recent years I have been using Guardian or
Fortress anchors with no chain in the typical mud which we often find in
Southern Bayous for short stays on the stern hook.  I cannot say it works
better than with chain, but there has been no significant abrasion.  I would
not suggest this as a common practice, since there is the issue of submerged
debris, other boats gear crossing the anchor rode and abrasion if rocks or
coarse gravel is present.
