Gee Mike, I'm not trying to tempt Mother Nature. I'm just making the point
about people having too much time and grant money on their hands. Mother
does what ever she damn well pleases regardless of those whose budgets (or
rates in this case) depend on dire predictions.

IMHO, if you flash a PHD around and pretend to be a forecaster, you should
be required to carry "the bone" around the campus for a week or two if you
are dramatically wrong. In the business world, it's called culpability...
