Greetings I always use 3m adhesive remover it cost a few bucks but it works really well at the shipyard and I have never seen it damage gel or varnish. Some might disagree but on some of our boats we have to remove the F/B to take the boat to the harbor and install the F/B there so we get to remove allot of caulk. Steve Forest Pan Asian Yacht Service
