Phil, I was never able to keep the water out of the hat band joint on our Hershine, so I had the bridge removed, re-glassed the bridge deck and then had the bridge and deck glassed together including the bench seats. Expensive, but fixed the issue permanently. And it looked just fine without that piece of teak. Bob
