T&T: 12 or 12/110?

This is not a direct answer to the question of 12 & 110 volts, but it
seems that having the flexibility to do both would be good.
However, I do have a question about the NovaKool products. I am
about to make a decision on the 4th(!!) refrigerator for my Ocean
Alexander 486. The first two were Norco 12/110 volt that lasted
about 3 years each. I swore that never again so I bought an Avanti
that I saw at the Miami boat show on a Ocean. Only 110 volt but I
have a great inverter installed now. It lasted 2.5 years and
stopped. My logic on this was it was cheaper by 1/3 over the Norco
so 3 replacements would be even. However it has never been cool
enough to keep ice-cream. A must on my boat!!
The NovaKool looks good on paper but is more money than the new
Norco. I will use the advice of the list to install fans to help
circulate on any new new refrigerator/freezer. My other choice that
will fit in the cabinet is a Haier but it looks very cheap.
Anyone have experiance with NovaKool?
