T&T: Aiming TV Dish (Was DirecTV Dish)

The need to adjust the satellite dish depends upon where you are located.
Those in the South-East have more flexibility in regards to elevation
settings than those of us further north in the Pacific Northwest. Here, at
nearly 48 degrees North latitude, I have to adjust both the elevation and
the azimuth if I move more than 30-40 miles. In the eight years of using a
FollowMeTv, I have been able to punch the location button successfully only
a few times. This is because most of our trips are North-South in direction
and changing elevation requires a trip to the electronics arch to manually
adjust the unit.

(SNIP) It only requires changing when you have traveled 60 miles or more in
latitude. Martin.
Martin is right about the 60 miles according to the book, but in reality,
the need to adjust is really closer to 200 miles or more. If you watch the
signal strength starting in the 90s it will gradually get worse as the
latitude changes, but fortunately the picture stays intact for a lot longer
than the documentation states before it degrades enough to warrant a trip to
the bridge to adjust the dish.
