or low tech, do listees use to keep track of main engines, genset- 
belts, oil
filters, fuel filters, oil changes, etc.? >

I write the date and hour meter reading on each filter when installed 
and on the pulley for each belt.  Expansion tank for coolant.  I am 
reminded of the dates each time I am in the engine room, which is 
before I fire anything up and usually much more frequently than that.  
My large generator has no remote start so I have to use the key on the 
generator mounted panel to start it and am reminded each time to check 
fluids and dates.
