I buy Hubbell. I believe their fittings are more rugged. In their finished 
cables, their connections are swaged making their loosening and overheating 
unlikely.

To compete with Marinco, they have lowered their prices. Using a 50amp 
125/240 fifty foot cable as an example; check out this froogle listing

The principle cause of of fire or burnout on shore connections is a chicken 
and egg question. But tension or side forces on connections will lead to 
failure or corrosion and failuire. locking a cord in place is nice, but will 
do little to ameliorate side forces.
