Switching from sail to trawler

I would agree of most of the thread about costs of sail vs power, but would
disagree about the windage factor: The modern sailboat or motor sailer has
far less profile to the wind than 95% of "trawlers". My Symbo 42 probably has
3x the windage of the Cal 46, as I look at them side by side at the dock here.
Also most sailboats have a much more easily driven hull. Also I disagree
about the fuel capacity and engine of most production sailboats. I was
looking at the Cabo Rico 40 review this A M: 72 gallons!, with a 62 H P
engine. Most sailboats are way underpowered and under proped to be motor
sailors. I think that 300 gallons is a more realistic fuel capacity for world
cruising a sailboat. I know of many of my sailing friends who have run out of
fuel on a long passage where there was not wind.
