Hello All!
I have been shopping for a possible live-aboard trawler for quite some
time now, and amazingly have found a '84 Marine Trader 44 (fiberglass hull)
in the local freshwater lake marina where I live. It arrived here 10 yrs
ago and has been in the water and under cover since that time, but with little
to no maintenance done. After having a look at the outside this weekend she
looks to be in quite good condition other than needing a good clean up and
teak trim restoration. What would I be looking at in terms of engine(twin
Lehmans), shafts, bottom maintenance in general for a boat that has seen only
minimal use in freshwater for this amount of time? It is being offered at an
excellent price for a vessel of its size, so I would appreciate anyones
thoughts on what I am looking at to get her into shape, and then it will run me
about 5k to get her to the coast here in SC where I live.
Thanks everyone for any input you can give me.
