Dogs Life, Ocean Alexanders Raised Pilot House Trawler, is fully
equipped and ready to take you safely, economically, and comfortably
wherever you want to go. Commissioned in early 2006, this boat is now fully
ready to go. Numerous options and upgrades have been performed without
regard to expense and the boat has had all required routine services
performed.
Boarding the boat couldnt be easier with the optional cockpit boarding
doors both port and starboard. Theres also the standard transom door with
access to the teak covered swim platform. Once on board youll notice the
new teak decking in the cockpit. The cockpit is huge and includes an aft
shore power connection point, hot and cold water shower, fresh and salt
water faucets, and access to a large Lazerrette that leads to one of the
three engine room access points. The boat deck partially covers the cockpit
area providing shade without interfering with your fishing.

Salon

Entering the salon through the sliding Diamond SeaGlaze aft door youre
greeted with the warmth of the teak woodwork and optional L shaped
ultraleather salon settee. Theres a hi/lo teak coffee/dining table and two
custom stools that tuck neatly under the table. To port there are storage
cabinets that line the wall just under the windows. A 23 Sony LCD HDTV
with custom wall mount is in the corner easily viewed from the salon and
galley. A KVH G4 (HP) satellite system provides access to your favorite TV
stations. Theres an optional Sony home entertainment center and 5 ceiling
mounted speakers for your listening enjoyment. The teak and senwood
flooring in salon provides access to the other two engine room access
points. 3 of the 5 huge dark tinted windows open proving fresh air and are
covered in custom Roman Shades. Here, and throughout the boat, youll
discover lighting fixtures placed in just the right places. Lighting is
controlled through multiple switches and dimmers so you get the light you
need, where you need it, and at a level just right for the mood. An
emergency manual bilge pump is located in the storage area under the settee.
The forward end of the salon now brings you to the galley and round glass
doored and lighted curio cabinet.

Galley

The galley is well equipped, functional and has a tremendous amount of
storage space. The round end cabinet and black galaxy granite countertops
will certainly catch your eye. But once past the beauty youll be impressed
to find an optional Force 10 Propane Stove/Oven, Sharp microwave and
convection oven, large Norcold refrigerator freezer, garbage disposal and SS
double sink. When you return with your provisions youll be amazed at just
how much storage space you have in the panty and other storage cabinets.
There are even drop cabinets between the salon and galley. 1 of 4 optional
fans provide for air flow when the air conditioning is not being used.
Theres also an externally vented exhaust fan for cooking.

Pilothouse

Continuing forward, up just 3 steps you enter the commanding Pilothouse.
Immediately to port and below the window is one of the many storage cabinets
in the PH. Looking across the teak and senwood flooring you cant help but
stop and admire the Stidd 500XL-2X2 Deluxe chrome and leather helm chair and
large teak and inlaid wood boat wheel.

Now at the helm youll have access to all systems and extensive electronics
suite. Starting at port side, your dash contains a TankTender system to
monitor fuel levels in all 4 tanks and water levels in both tanks; next you
have bilge pump activity lights and high water alarm for the 3 areas of the
bilge; followed by a TankWatch level monitor for the black water tank.;
electrical switches and wiper/washer controls follow; then theres the
analog gauges and LCD display system to monitor the John Deere engine; an
ACR remote searchlight controller follows; and, finally, additional
electrical switches and controls for SidePower bow thruster and Maxwell
windlass. Of course theres more. The overhead electronics panel contains
the JBL MR-17 AM/FM/Sirius Radio and Infinity Reference Speakers, and UNIDEN
UM525 VHF Radio. Next to the helm chair is the multi-station Newmar
Intercom phone; 2 UNIDEN WAM-4X wireless remotes for the 2 VHF radios, this
allows you to have a virtual radio at both helms. The electronics housing
is huge containing a networked Furuno 10.4 color
charplotter/radar/fishfinder and Furuno autopilot. Just in front of the
electronics housing is the single lever electronic engine and transmission
controller. On top of the enclosure is a large Ritchie powerdamp compass
with night lighting. The networked navigation system also supports a PC
based navigation capability. When not using the PH helm station the
windshield can be covered with the custom Textilene Sunscreens.

The AC and DC electrical circuit breaker panel are starboard of the helm
station and include AC and DC volt and amp meters, the remote panel for the
Xantrex Inverter/charger, and the upgraded digital voltmeter for 3 of the 4
battery systems.

Just behind the helm chair is an elevated bench seat and adjustable table.
This is an absolutely fantastic place for guests to view the boats course
or to eat meals while underway. Just behind the bench seat is a small day
bed or storage space. Before leaving the PH, youll probably want to take a
look at the visibility. With the reversed rake front windows and windows
almost entirely all the way around, youll not miss a thing while underway.
You can go out sliding Diamond SeaGlaze doors on either side or you can go
down the port side staircase to the staterooms.

Master Stateroom
Entering the Master Stateroom you see that the fine woodwork continues.
Theres storage everywhere and a huge storage locker under the hinged bed.
Cedar lines the hanging closet.

The bed sits amidships, where youll enjoy a comfortable nights rest on the
custom Handicraft mattress. From the bed you can watch the 20 Sharp LCD TV
and even watch a DVD from the player next to the bed. There are two screen
covered porthole windows above the bed and 2 inside the MSR Head allowing
for good cross ventilation. Theres also a Hella fan to aid in air movement
on evening where you close not to use the central heat or air conditioning.
If you need to call elsewhere on the boat, the MSR has one of the 4
installed Newmar intercom phones.

Master Stateroom Head

In the MSR and to port is the owners head. To save on space, this heads
door is a pocket door. Theres a spacious separate molded fiberglass shower
stall with molded bench and glass door enclosure. The countertops are the
same black granite found elsewhere on the boat. The fresh water head is
from Tecma with macerator and two stage water conserving electronic control
panel. The flooring is teak and senwood. Storage space is plentiful.

Day Head

At the foot of the staircase and adjacent to the guest quarters is another
full head. Besides having a traditional door rather than a pocket door like
that used in the MSR Head, this head shares all of the same features found
in the MSR head.

Guest Stateroom

The guest stateroom is located at the bow of the boat and includes two bunks
configured in a Hi-low fashion. Theres plenty of room for storage and,
like the MSR, it has a cedar lined hanging closets closet. Like the PH, the
guest stateroom has a large hatch with a screen and blackout shades.

Foredeck

The foredeck contains the Portuguese Bridge. Inside the Portuguese bridge
and under the PH windshield is storage and seating. Forward on the bridge
youll note the 1< SS railing and the Maxwell 2200 horizontal windlass. On
each side of the windlass is one of the two separate chain lockers. One
locker has over 200 feet of chain thats attached to a 45 pound polished SS
CQR anchor. Theres support for an additional anchor. Foot operated
windlass controls are located at the anchor platform while switches
available to do the same at either helm station. The anchor lockers contain
fresh and sea water wash down systems.

Boat Deck

Leaving the port side PH door the boat deck and fly bridge are accessed from
the protected staircase. On the boat deck youll find room to sit out in
sun. Youll also find your Walker Bay Genesis Inflatable dinghy chocked to
the deck and ready to be launched by the Nick Jackson electric crane/davit.
Out of the way and to starboard is a fiberglass enclosure for the 2 aluminum
propane tanks for galley stove/oven.

Fly Bridge

Just steps up from the boat deck youve arrived at the fly bridge and its
commanding view of the waters ahead. Your helm station mimics the PH helm
station with the same electronics suite. A dual Pompenette helm chair with
fold down foot rests provide a comfortable ride, no matter how long your day
is. Theres also a seating on the port side adjacent to the helm. A full
bimini top covered with Stamoid material will keep you cool and out of the
direct sun for years to come. Music is provided through a pair of Infinity
speakers driven from the Sirius Satellite radio and CD player located in the
PH. Behind and above you is the mast, an Ocean Alexander signature
offering. For those wanting to do the great loop the mast is hinged for
lowering allowing you to clear the lowest non opening bridge on the route.

Engine Room

Entering the engine room through the salon deck or door to the lazerrette
youll immediately see how well thought out the placement of all systems was
done. The John Deere main engine is easily accessible on all sides making
easy accomplishment of routine and preventive maintenance. The forward
bulkhead is where youll find all fuel distribution valves supporting the 4
fuel tanks servicing the engine and generator through Racor filters, and
fuel polishing system. On this boat the saddle tanks were pushed back and
reinforcements were incorporated in the hull to support the easy
installation of stabilizers for those wanting to improve on an already
comfortable ride. The sound shield enclosed Northern Lights generator is
easily accessed for routine checks. Other systems youll find in the engine
room include the fresh water pump; hydraulic steering revision and ball
valves leading to the auto pilot pump; 20 gallon hot water heater, 2 battery
chargers, inverter/charter, 3 of the 4 battery systems, 3 air conditioning
units, and a variety of other equipment.
