BST: Berth wanted - Ft. Lauderdale area

Mike, I found a slip behind a guys house for $500 a month, but it ended up
being too shallow for my 4 foot 9 inch draft.  So I moved to Marian Bay
Resort up the New River.  It's a very nice facility for about $1,300 a
month.  You might try the city facilities at Las Olas, but it might be even
more expensive than Marina Bay.  If you go up the New River you should time
your arrival at the RR bridge under I595 at slack as it can move pretty fast
through there and those concrete bridge pilings are a bit intimidating.
There are slips at the city facilities as well, but again, it's going to
cost you more than a grand a month.  

My boat ships to Seattle in two weeks on Yachtpath.  It's going to be a rude
awakening to return to Seattle considering we have enjoyed summer weather
for almost 18 months!
