BST: Selling boats in Florida Free Dockage

Amazing, Labor Day weekend is just around the corner!!!

 

The boat yards and marinas are asking for their winter storage contracts,
and your boat has not sold. If the boat is over 40 feet, and over $300,000
it may be worth it to move it to Florida. Buyers will travel to where they
can see as many boats as possible, and no area has as many boats as Fort
Lauderdale. Besides buyers from all the US who come here to find boats, we
have Europeans and South Americans who are buying boats for export.

 

The Shipyard Group is a subsidiary of a very, very, large yacht yard in Fort
Lauderdale. We have made one of our undercover dockage sheds into our
Shipyard Showroom. The clearance to the concrete roof is 28 feet, and we
have room at any one time for 15 to 25 boats depending on size. Maximum
length is 120 feet, but clearance is the issue for boats over 80 feet. The
normal dockage of $1.25 per foot, per day, is free with a central listing.
There is a charge for dockside services, which includes electricity and 24
hour security, but even that is reduced. If your clearance is over 28 feet,
we have dockage sheds with higher roofs. No sailboats, they are not that
tall! 

 

We actively solicit other yacht brokers to sell our listings on a
co-brokerage basis, and many brokers come to see boats here each week. When
a buyer walks in, we often have a number of boats here on site that they can
look at. This is unusual here in Fort Lauderdale as the marinas are so
expensive, many boats for sale are kept at rented docks at private homes
scattered all over town. A buyer might come to see a 49' Grand Banks that is
here, and decide to look at a 53' Jefferson Pilothouse they might not know
about.

 

We do a lot of promotion, with advertising on at least 8 websites, plus we
advertise in many magazines. We are now doing ads in Russian and Arabic
language boating magazines. We can get your boat sold.
