BST: Some boats in Florida

I was watching the news this morning and saw a piece about" Lake Effect
Snow" in upstate New York; I will take my chances with hurricanes here in
South Florida. We have been lucky with storms this year and if any buyers
are thinking of coming here to look at boats, there are more available now.
The insurance companies do not want owners to bring their boats here until
after November 1st, so more are arriving every day.

 

Florida has a program for non resident boat buyers so they can keep their
boats here for 90 days after the sale, without any sales tax due to Florida.
This way you can keep the boat here for most of the winter and enjoy our
warm weather. It is only 48 miles from Fort Lauderdale to Bimini in the
Bahamas...

 

There are a couple of boats here at the shipyard that could be of interest
to BST readers.

 

1991 49' Grand Banks. This boat is powered with CAT 3208 naturally aspirated
diesels, 210 HP each and is equipped with stabilizers. Asking $399,000

 

1992 55' Florida Bay Coaster. The interior of this boat reminds me of a Cape
Cod cottage. It has been extremely well maintained and shows very well
$549,000. Jay Benford, the designer, called our office and said the price
was too low, this price is pretty firm.

 

2003 65' Molokai Strait. This boat has extremely low hours and has been
captain maintained. The varnish is being redone right now, the boat is
looking awesome. The price is reduced to $1,750,000 and the seller is very
motivated. This is a hint to make any reasonable offer!!!

 

1984 72' Huckins Sport Fish Motor Yacht. This fiberglass yacht has had
extensive refitting with fresh hull paint, fresh interior, one main rebuilt,
lots of upgrades. The former captain says he recalls about 30 GPH at 18
knots, and with 1800 gallons of fuel, this classic yacht has long range.
Realistically priced at $925,000
