Bob Kottle of Darien , CT, a regular reader of TWBST, saw my name tag and asked what happened to all the refrigerators that were on the boats that I sold! Here is an update on Selene. There is a new 48' Selene available for quick delivery on the East Coast, still time to add your own electronics. Since there is a wait to get delivery of a new boat, this one will not last long. The first new 36' Selene on the East Coast is out for a boat ride now, actually it is on board a ship, headed to Florida. We have space reserved for it at the Palm Beach Boat Show, March 25- 28, but it might not get here on time. If you are interested in seeing the new 36', send to me an e -mail and I will give you an update on it's arrival time. The 53' Selene will be there, at the show, on time, please ask for me. At the Palm Beach Boat Show March 25-28, we will also have on display Ted Hood's 52' power catamaran, a full displacement trawler with trans-Atlantic range, but can cruise at 16 knots, and Ted Hood's 48' motor sailor. I will be on board a 57' Nordhavn, "CLAIRBOUYANT'. This 1999 yacht has recently been legally imported into the US to be sold, and is now for sale to US residents. I moved the Nordhavn from the Cape Canaveral area to Fort Lauderdale a few weeks ago, so I got to run the boat for a two day trip. Also at the Rex Yachts display will be a 1981 49 Grand Banks, that has had a complete Awlgrip paint job and shows really well. Not in the show, but in nearby North Palm Beach, is the all steel 47' Pedro Dutch built steel sundeck trawler for $235,000, The Pedro has twin Volvos and twin keels to protect both props.Also in North Palm Beach, a 2001 40' Nordhavn for $497,000. In Fort Lauderdale, we have a great deal on a proven trans-Atlantic trawler. This boat came from England on it's own bottom. It is a 46' Cygnus, built by Cygnus Marine, builder of hundreds of commercial North Sea fishing trawlers. "LADY B" is the same hull as the fishing trawlers, all 17 feet of beam, weighing in at around 90,000 pounds for a 46' boat. After all, it was designed to carry thousands of pounds of ice and fish in the North Sea. She has a slow turning Gardner diesel, and a wonderful teak interior. The owner lives on board, and wants to move ashore, and has lowered his asking price to $298,000. The boat is set up for tropical cruising with lots of sun shades, has flopper stoppers, and a dinghy on a TNT style lift.
