[Sentoa] Anchor Light

Ron, you are correct, not good. Your all around light is strictly for anchoring. Since your tug is over 12 meters, you don't have the choice with regard to combining anchor and steaming lights. If you have a mast on Sedona, you could use an all around light on the top for anchoring, and a steaming light (showing 225 degrees) on the front of the mast. That way you'd get rid of the Perko or equivalent "two section" (front/rear) light. The steaming light would come on only when your side and stern lights are illuminated (switch in "running" or "navigation" lights position). The all around light would come on only in the "anchor" light position on the switch.

On my previous tug, I had a Davis mega-lite on the top of the mast. It featured a light sensor that automatically switches on at dusk and off at dawn, so when leaving the tug during daylight hours, I could leave the "anchor light" switch in the on position (but the light would not be illuminated), and the anchor light would be lit when we returned after dark. As I recall, the bulb drew less than 100ma when illuminated, so didn't use a lot of current.

I thought about leaving the all around light up on top but I have a stern light at the aft end of the upper deck so I would have been showing two white lights from the stern. Not good.
